CLASS SCHEDULE
Friday, September 26th
5:30 – 6:30 pm Registration

Freshen Up, Then Go Within
Friday, September 26th, 6:30 – 9:00 pm

The restorative mode of practice teaches us how to use props in such a way that we can be in the asana longer, and penetrate deeper. Please bring extra blankets or bolsters, blocks and straps  Once we stop going into an asana we can then actually be in the asana.  This approach helps fortify the nervous system.

Students will use inversions, supine asanas, mudras, bandhas, pranayamas, pratyahara and dhyana techniques to explore the antaranga level of practice.

Stability in Mobility: Iyengar Vinyasa Approach
Saturday, September 27th, 9:00 – 11:30 am

Vinyasa practice has always been part of the Iyengar method.  The lightness, strength, and mobility that this mode of practice helps train us to maintain our vitality, and exuberance towards life.  With these qualities we are better equipped to practice santosha, and handle wisely the sometimes sudden challenges life gives us.

Spin in, don’t spin out
Saturday, September 27th, 3:30 – 6:00 pm

Twists offer a deepening of extension and mobility.  They center our minds in a unique way.  They offer compactness simultaneously with extension.  The class will look at the twisting actions in many categories of asanas.

Receiving the Opening: Backbends
Sunday, September 28th, 9:00 - 11:30 AM

Systematically the backbend asanas teach us to support maximum opening of the front body.  When the support of the asanas is established the spine, the heart and the mind open up in an exhilarating way!  The lasting effect is a strong backbone to handle life’s responsibilities, and an open heart to embrace its joys.

We hope to see you all there !
